Multiphase reactivity of polyfunctional organic nitrates in the atmosphere : MULTI-NITRATES
ED 251 - ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
2017

Thesis Project Description:

The thesis consists in the study of the reaction mechanisms and fates (kinetics, life times) of atmospherically relevant organic nitrates in condensed phase (SOA and cloud droplets) under atmospheric conditions. The final aim is to implement the obtained data in box multiphase and chemical transport models to better evaluate the impact of these multiphase processes on tropospheric ozone production and other pollutants in the atmosphere. We plan to study the reactivity of organic nitrates with hydroxyl radicals or under light irradiation by new approaches such as Electronic Paramagnetic Spectroscopy (EPR).
